Quench Energy Star water coolers

What is Energy Star?

Established in 1992 as part of the Clean Air Act, Energy Star is a program run by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that helps businesses and individuals save money through energy efficiency. Energy efficiency simply means using less energy to perform the same task – that is, eliminating energy waste. Energy efficiency brings a variety of benefits: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing demand for energy imports, and lowering our costs on a household, company, and economy-wide level.

What Does It Mean to Be Energy Star Certified?

Filtered water coolers are Energy Star tested by measuring the energy being used in a 24-hour period to maintain cold and/or hot water at the appropriate dispensing temperature. Quench currently has one Energy Star certified water cooler – the Quench 720, which is a standard capacity, bottleless water cooler that serves an endless supply of fresh, hot and cold water, using Quench’s NSF-certified filtration. The Quench 720 also offers UV sanitization to maintain water quality. Available without hot water as the Quench 718.

Are Quench Water Coolers Efficient?

While not all Quench bottleless water coolers are Energy Star certified, they are more energy efficient and sustainable than the delivery of 5-gallon plastic water jugs or single-use plastic water bottles. Bottling water is not only expensive, it’s wasteful. Quench bottleless water coolers reduce waste and the pollution of water delivery by filtering your building’s own drinking water directly from the source. Each year, this equals big savings versus plastic jug or bottle delivery:

  • Saves up to 140 million kilowatt hours of electricity
  • Conserves 6 million gallons of fuel
  • Keeps 70 million pounds of plastic waste out of landfills
  • Saves millions of gallons of water

A standard Quench bottleless water cooler replaces the need for approximately 150 five-gallon plastic water jugs per year and the equivalent of about 70,000 single-use plastic water bottles over the lifetime of a customer, not to mention the associated production and transportation costs. Plus, bottleless water coolers save the plastic from ending up in landfills and waterways. So, say goodbye to plastic water jugs and/or bottles and switch to Quench bottleless filtered water coolers to positively impact the planet.
